Mike Umscheid Photography -- Image Licensing Information

Mike Umscheid travels many thousands of miles each year across the Great Plains and beyond to capture stunning and inspiring images of the wonders of nature -- with a great emphasis on severe thunderstorms across the western Great Plains. This serious hobby and passion of Mike's consumes a substantial amount of time and money, and the equipment he chooses to use out in the field is either prosumer or professional grade Nikon photography gear. As of 2009, Mike shoots with two digital SLR camera bodies: Nikon D3 as his primary choice for ultra wide angle and low-light imagery and a Nikon D200 as a companion and backup camera. Mike only shoots with Nikon lenses to match the Nikon bodies.

All of the images on Mike Umscheid Phohtography/underthemeso.com website are available as stock images for licensed use. As of 2009, Mike is not currently tied to any stock agency, therefore any request for licensing goes directly to him. Mike can most easily be reached at the e-mail address listed at the bottom of this page. Licensing prices depend on a number of variables, and Mike will strictly follow the Industry Standard Price Guide for Stock Photography, offering only non-exclusive licenses for his work.

For license requests, please provide specific details on the intended use of the image of interest, including but not limited to: type of media (book, calendar, magazine, etc.) -- whether it is promotional/advertising, editorial, corporate -- the expected press run of the publication -- and the intended size of the image used in the publication (i.e. quarter of a page, full page, 2-page spread, front cover, etc.)

Once a license agreement has been reached, Mike will set the licensee up with a temporary FTP account on underthemeso.com to retrieve a full-resolution version of the requested image for use, usually in TIFF or JPEG format -- or whichever image file format the licensee requests.
