Fri, 23 Dec 2016 19:12:11 -0600 Reprocessed image of the Amarillo Tornado of 13 June 2016 | There was one thing about all my Amarillo 13 June tornado images that bugged me. The foreground with the ranch in it was insufficiently out of focus for my critical taste on every single frame during the tornado. All my shots were at 62mm focal length at 1/5s and were very slightly out of focus given motion blur... even on a tripod. As you can imagine, the shooting conditions were extremely poor with inflow of 40+ mph. I did, however, get a few frames at 48mm and 1/15s before the tornado started, which shows the ranch in very good focus. I've decided to reprocess all my tornado images using the sharp foreground in Photoshop. Here is the first frame I've done so far. There are 5 or 6 frames I am going to do this to as the tornado showed varying shapes and back-lighting conditions from lightning. | |
