Synopsis: This was the first of a two-day shoot at Quivira with the focus being on Whooping Cranes. On this first day, I (along with other birders) saw 3 Whoopers on the south end of Big Salt Marsh. I photographed the cranes fly south from their overnight roost, but they remained fairly distant and thus did not get that great of shots. Later that day, I tried to photograph other wildlife since there were no other Whooping Cranes around. The best I came up with was a snapping turtle on the west end of Wildlife Drive. |
